Quick Facts

  • Day shift 6am – 6pm or night shift 6pm – 6am — minimum 5 shifts monthly
  • 10 – 15 patients plus 1 admit for day shift, 5 admits for night shift
  • Full specialty backup support available including anesthesiology and general surgery
  • Rapid response team participation encouraged but not required
  • Ventilation management required for all shifts
  • Night shift duties include central lines and intubations
  • Night shift includes cross-coverage of entire hospitalist service
  • ICU rounding and admitting responsibilities
